Tooling Engineer

Job Description :

The Tooling Engineer will schedule tool builds and analyze data to improve efficiency. They will design and troubleshoot tools and fixtures for production, collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Additionally, they need to maintain documentation, stay updated on new technologies, and ensure tools meet specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and troubleshoot tooling and fixtures for the production process to meet print specifications.
  • Schedule tool builds to customer requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure tools integrate seamlessly into the manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all tooling.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for build efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on external design and build when needed.
  • Stay current with new tooling technologies and processes.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Conduct inspections on final products to ensure tooling and fixtures meet specifications
  • Assist in prototype development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field/experience.
  • Experience in tool design, development, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software such as Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience with CAM software and CNC programming such as MasterCAM
  • Experience with GD&T.
  • Experience with data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
