Tooling Engineer

Job Description :

The Tooling Engineer will schedule tool builds and analyze data to improve efficiency. They will design and troubleshoot tools and fixtures for production, collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Additionally, they need to maintain documentation, stay updated on new technologies, and ensure tools meet specifications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and troubleshoot tooling and fixtures for the production process to meet print specifications.
Schedule tool builds to customer requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure tools integrate seamlessly into the manufacturing process.
Create and maintain documentation for all tooling.
Analyze data to identify areas for build efficiency.
Collaborate with suppliers on external design and build when needed.
Stay current with new tooling technologies and processes.
Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Conduct inspections on final products to ensure tooling and fixtures meet specifications
Assist in prototype development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field/experience.
Experience in tool design, development, and implementation.
Proficiency in 3D design software such as Autodesk Inventor.
Experience with CAM software and CNC programming such as MasterCAM
Experience with GD&T.
Experience with data analysis and problem-solving.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
