Whirltronics executes many different manufacturing processes on a daily basis. To continue to be a leader in manufacturing we regularly implement improvements to these processes. The engineering team pilots these improvements and designs equipment for any unique customer needs. New to the engineering team in 2021, Andrea Stensland leads the prototype process for these new designs. We asked Andrea to share about her journey at Whirltronics, read about it below.
“I was on a senior design team that worked with Whirltronics to design an inspection fixture. I got to know the company and some of the engineers and decided to apply for the position they had open.”
Did you originally see yourself in this current position?
“When I was in school, I didn’t see myself in a manufacturing environment like this but I have found that I really enjoy it. It’s different every day and being able to get up and work on something on the floor and then switch to the computer is always a nice change throughout my day.”
Can you describe a typical workday?
“My days vary quite a bit from day to day. I spend time getting customer prototypes sent through the process and inspecting them before they are sent out. I work on designing fixtures and parts for our cell lines.”
What is one thing you wish you knew before working at Whirtronics?
“I wish I had some more manufacturing experience. The people here have been amazing at helping me navigate the different programs and machines that we have so that I am able to work on them as well.”
In three words, explain Whirltronics.
“Collaborative, progressive, quality”
What is your favorite thing about working at Whirltronics?
